Mike Orren is currently on sabbatical, and was most recently the Chief Product Officer of The Dallas Morning News; President of Belo Business Intelligence. He is husband to Crystal Orren; and a Mungarian at Munger Place Church in Dallas, TX.

This site is a somewhat haphazard collection of writings, mostly about local media, but also about music, life, and whatever else hoves into my field of vision. Sometimes I write six posts in a day; sometimes I don’t post for six years.

It is largely an archive of rantings from the time period when I launched the Quixotic, if marginally prescient “panlocal” news enterprise called Pegasus News. Beyond that it’s a place to store the too-infrequent output of my writing muse and various arcana I’d like to see live on in a place on the interwebs not controlled by a Zuckerberg, an Ev, or a Googlezon.

In recent times, I’ve become a bit of a photog, so I’ll likely share the ones I like here on occasion.

If something seems offensive or absurd, check the date. I don’t cover my tracks. If something seems boldly ahead of its time, assume I had an infinite number of monkeys and an infinite number of typing devices.

You can also find me on Twitter, LinkedIn and whatever social nets are en vogue at the moment.

I also have taken up DJing as a serious hobby. More on my alter-ego, DJ MO.Love here.
