Let’s get this part out of the way: In general, pimping is a terrible business to be in, and not one I advocate in any way — particularly when human trafficking and/or children are involved.
But one pimp investigated by YouthRadio has a business plan from which many execs could glean some good lessons (excerpted with my notes in italics; links mine):
Keep It Pimpin
More serious about my money and future…this pimpin like it’s a business (only except [sic] their best)
If you aren’t serious about your business, no one will be. And employees will deliver at the bar you set.
Take care my bitches more better
In this business, this covers your employees, who double as sales and production as well as your Capital Expenditures: The cornerstones of your business. Take care of your people and your tools, or they won’t take care of you.
…Other ways to work my hoes (internet, int. feature dancers, int. stud)
Every business can diversify its marketing
Discover hoes from all over (jail house) Small cities nationwide got hoes that…to be discovered. Stay in high pursuit looking for a prostitute.
Recruit widely and outside your small circle.
Don’t never get too comfortable or lazy in my position.
Maintain and campaign (everything I do or buy. Make sure it’s a campaign tool)
…My word is my bond (keep it pimpin!)
Whatever your industry, a bad reputation will haunt you.
Attend the Players Ball in Vegas (cross country pimpin! Establish my name internationally)
Be where the game is.
…Every hoe take a vow to hoeing!
If your team isn’t dedicated, it’s just a job. If they aren’t in it for the haul, there are usually better team members available.
Stack money to the ceiling (safety deposit box)
Cash is king. Maintain reserves.
Cash cars (buy not good cash cars that way I will…have cars if something goes bad.)
Minimize my budget (cash cars, houses, etc.)
Keeping expenses low is always a good idea.
