While I’m working on a lengthier post based on a partial reading of Lewis’ Mere Christianity, a few things that have popped up in my media consciousness today:
Pegasus News has started a series on musicians “Gigging for God,” making their living playing at area churches. Part 1 focuses on the role of the megachurch. I, for one, am not a fan of megachurches in general. I find them too impersonal and too focused on growth and income at the expense of all else. That said, I’ll be checking some out in my church series.
D Magazine has an interview with a UTSW researcher who (gasp) can reconcile being a scientist and a Christian. If there’s one thing I’m intolerant of, it’s intolerance. If you find his take surprising, you probably won’t enjoy my thoughts on religion.
